Five days on the Ocean in pursuit of big fish.

Find out what a typical day on such an expedition looks like. How do we live? What do we catch? How do we change our fishing techniques? And finally, what results do we achieve?

Our fishing trips on a catamaran involve five days of fishing in the ocean, without returning to base. We reach places where others do not fish, which is why we achieve such results. Before and after the trip, you are accommodated in our colonial house with an ocean view.

Morning on the Ocean: Starting the Day with a Fishing Rod

Madagascar – just the name evokes thoughts of exoticism, wild nature, and endless possibilities. However, for fishing enthusiasts like me, who have been fishing there for eight years, it is primarily an eldorado full of emotions, adventures, and spectacular catches.

A day on the ocean starts early – by 7:00 AM, some anglers are up to take advantage of the unique opportunities for morning fishing.

Before breakfast, which is usually served around 8:00 AM, many of us do not waste time. The anchorage is where we most often start with popping or bottom fishing using a piece of fresh fillet. Morning fishing is not only a great warm-up but also a chance for spectacular strikes from the fierce Giant Trevally (GT), which can stir emotions right at the start of the day.

Fishing Methods: From Popping to Trolling

Every morning is an opportunity to test different fishing methods. In shallow waters, popping and bottom fishing dominate, which are ideal for GT, snappers, or chicken fish. However, when we head out to deeper waters, we change our tactics and equipment. Here, trolling reigns supreme – we set up several rods with different baits: live bonito, fish fillets, or artificial lures. Thanks to the variety of baits, we can expect catches of species such as sailfish, tuna, barracuda, mahi-mahi, wahoo, sharks, and even legendary marlins.

Fishing is an art of adapting to conditions. Depending on the weather, fish movements, and the activity of the fishing grounds, we change methods and techniques. Sometimes we return to shallow waters to try speed jigging, which allows us to catch completely different species.

In the evening, we anchor our catamaran in shallower water and begin our night fishing. This is another opportunity to catch interesting species.
